Athletics ATLj of throwing spears

The launch area of javelin consists of the corridor of launches, Arc limit and fall of the device. The corridor have a length between 30 and 36,50 m recommending will never below 33,50 m. The corridor must have a width of 4 m. The sector of falling javelin will have an angle of twenty and a length of approximately unlimited though related to the level and athletic category launchers to come therein according to the following table. See drawings

In the athletics track is built usually two areas of of throwing spears, located in the centre of each semicircles and with the corridor parallel to the straights. If the length of the corridor exceeds the available space on the semicircle, runs through the track, for which it is necessary to place a removable kerb. The sector of fall is situated for both corridors in the field of grass inside the track.

To facilitate the development and vision of the competition by athletes and spectators, as well as security measure bands will be reserved minimum free spaces around the entire perimeter of the sector of falls. Free space around the launch aisle must have a minimum width of 2.50 m. The angle of the sector of crashes (~ 29th) must be complemented in the sides by two sectors circulars from 10th to a total of ~ 49th, in which space should not be allowed access by unauthorized persons during the launch by security measure, to avoid it is advisable to place an additional fence of at least 1m outside the sector.

The height between the pavement and the nearest obstacle (power lines in outdoor facilities; underside of roof, hang beam, luminaire, through air conditioning, in covered facilities) both on the field as on the outer bands should be entirely free and have a minimum of 12 m. In training covered modules will suffice the existence of this free space in the first ten metres drops sector.

The central axis of the corridor of launch and falls sector must be understood in the environment limited by the geographical directorates N-NE / SE-SO. It must take into account the winds which must be enabled the launch towards both NO-NE as SE-SO.

The corridor of launches will be a pavement different characteristics in crashes and its outer bands. The corridor of launches admitted a maximum outstanding lengthwise (in the direction of the race) from 1 per 1000 and laterally from 1 per 100, to enable the draining superficial waters. The pavement must have solved the drainage deep waters, as well as not being abrasive or slippery and elastic although endowed if security underfoot. The area where the last three steps of the launcher, should be particularly resistant to the action of your nails. The pavement marina will be synthetic, prefabricated OR on site, on a basis of zahorras (sand and gravel) 15 cm thick minimum and two layers of asphalt agglomerated 40 mm (Arid Ømáx.: 20 mm) and 25 mm (Arid Ømáx.: 5 mm) thick minimum respectively. See figure

Mark the following requirements under UNE 41958 IN “ sports Pavements ”:

Impact absorption

* Rules and the soles of the shoes heels may have up to a maximum of 11 nails.
Synthetic pavement for the part of the nail that protrudes from the soles or heeled should not exceed 9 mm, except for leap of height and of throwing spears not exceeding 12 mm. The maximum diameter of the nails will be 4 mm In another type of pavements the maximum length of the nail is 25 mm diameter and the maximum 4 mm

The pavement of crashes sector and its outer bands admitted a maximum outstanding in the direction of launch of 1 per 1000, to enable the draining superficial waters. The pavement must have solved the evacuation deep waters, as well as being a deformable enough material to the impact left clear mark without causing irreparable damage and without having to sign the footsteps of judges and competitors. The pavement will pitch for national and international competitions, for other competitions will be preferably pitch, failing that will be of clay or ashes.

Artificial lighting is uniform and so that does not cause glare of athletes, judges nor spectators. Mark the standard UNE-EN 12193 “ Illumination of sports facilities ” and will have the following minimum levels of illumination:

ATHLETICS abroad (all activities)
COMPETICIÓN LEVEL Horizontal illuminance
And med (lux) Uniformity
And min / Emed
International and national competitions 500 0.7
Local and regional competitions, training high level 200 0.5
Training, school sport and recreation 100 0.5

In launches of disk, hammer and javelin precautions should be taken to ensure the safety of people, because the object launched can leave the illuminated area and be invisible in part of your flight.

For TV broadcasts of color and recording movies requires a vertical illuminance levels of at least 1,000 lux and 1,400 lux in international competitions, however this value can increase with distance from the camera to the object. For more information regarding vertical illuminance, uniformity, color temperature and Performance index of color must consult the mentioned law.

The layout of the area of launches will agree with drawings

Launch areas javelin should be located in full independence and different location of the remaining athletic fields, with the exception of the possible and partial overlap in their sectors with the fall of launches weight, hammer and disk.

Launch areas javelin will consist of a single corridor and sector or by several corridors and sectors to allow a sports practiced simultaneously.

The width of the lines existing or tapes graffiti is 5 cm, with the exception of the field being limit arc areas that delimit. The marking of lines on the outer bands of the corridor must be perfectly acceded, be permanent as well as enrasar with the surface. The marking of lines or tapes on the sector of crashes, must be perfectly acceded and be mobile, unless it is independent character to others.

The full route, you can specify the following details:

7a) launches aisle: it will be a rectangle of the width and length specified in the point1. The redesign of this rectangle should be done by triangulation, so that in subsequent audit of the diagonals, these match. The corridor will be limited by two “ lateral line parallel ” of 5 cm width, separated its edges mas coming the width of the corridor indicated.

7b) launches and arc sector lateral lines: the sector falls will be limited in their area of contact with the corridor through a “ limit ” arc and laterally by some “ sidelines of sector ” both lines are drawn as follows: We draw the longitudinal axis of the corridor and sector; determines a point To this axis, located 8 m away from the end of the corridor; doing centre in To gives an arc of 8 m until it produces its intersection with the “ lateral lines ” of the corridor, in points B and C; this circle arc will be a device or other non metallic profile oxidable OR protected from corrosion, OR other material fit resistant to corrosion, a squad of wood Or simply a painted line, so that its width is 7 cm and that his up- enrase perfectly with the level of the pavement; from each end Arc a line will be drawn at right angles with the “ lateral lines ” of the corridor, with a length of 0.750 m and a width of 7 cm; joined the points B and C with the center of the arc to and drag on both as needed to determine the area of crashes of the javelin, see drawing

The sector aperture (straight separation between the edges of the “ interior ” lines of the sector) for a certain distance, must be obtained by multiplying the distance (R) by the factor ½ (R / 2) as is indicated in the drawing

7c) indicator Lines of distance: Is optional marking over the area of crashes of certain lines that indicate entire distances launch 5 in 5 meters. These lines will be plotted circumference arches with centre in the circle and with 40-45-50-55 radios m...., to mark these distances. These arches facilitate visually appraising distances by launchers and spectators.

8a) Banners in the sector: The sector banners are those that complete the extremes of the “ lateral lines of the sector. ” Will be fully protected metal corrosion, no metal oxidable or other appropriate material. The banderola will be rectangular, and about 400 x 200 mm. The mast will take 8 mm diameter, rising on the level of the pavement a minimum of 600 mm.

8b) indicators of distance: Can be indicators of distance at the intersection of “ sector lateral lines ” and “ indicator lines of distances. ” Unregulated characteristics.

8c) Banners indicators: Depending on the category of the competition should be brought with a banner or special disk distance from the current record, either global, continental, national.

There will be also a banner or distinctive indicator to bring the best launch of each contestant must be placed over a line or ribbon outside the “ sector lateral lines ”.

The javelin is composed of three main parts: a head, a pole and a handgrip of string (encordadura). The mast may be compact (litego) or hollow and will be constructed of metal or another suitable material to form a fixed wide and integrated. The mast fixed will head to her a metal finishing in a tip acute.

The surface of the mast will not nor holes, neither bumps, neither slots, or stretch marks, nor holes, nor ruggedness and finishing will be flat and uniform throughout its extension. The head is built entirely of metal. May contain a tip welded reinforced and other alloy metal at the end of the head with such that the whole head is smooth and uniform throughout its surface.

The encordadura, which should cover the center of gravity, not to exceed the diameter of the mast in more than 8 mm Can have a surface of design slider not regulate, but without straps, nor notches incisions of any kind. The encordadura will be thick uniform.

The cross section of the javelin should be evenly move from one to the other extreme. The maximum diameter of the mast should be immediately in front of the encordadura. The central part of the mast, including under the encordadura, can be cylindrical or slightly declining towards the queue, but the reduction of the diameter from immediately in front of the encordadura until immediately behind cannot, in any case, exceed 0.25 mm.

Since the encordadura, the diameter of the javelin regularly should diminish towards tip lead and towards the queue at the rear. The longitudinal profile since the encordadura until the tip of front and until the queue should be straight or slightly convex and may not have any abrupt alterations in the diameter from one extreme to the other, except immediately behind the head and front and behind the encordadura, throughout the length of the javelin. At the back of the head, reducing the diameter may not exceed 2.5 mm and this change in the requirement of longitudinal profile cannot extend in more than 300 mm behind the head.

While the cross-section should be circular, allows a maximum difference of 2% among the largest diameter and lower. The average value of these two diameters must correspond to the specifications of a javelin circular.

The shape of the longitudinal profile can be quickly and easily checked using the edge of a rule of metal, at least 50 cm long and two devices calibradotes of 0.20 mm and 1.25 mm thick. For sections of slightly convex profile, the edge straight will be firm while it is in contact with a short section of the javelin. For sections straights of profile, with the edge straight held firmly against him, it will be impossible to introduce the calibre of 0.20 mm between the javelin and the edge straight, in any part of the entire length of contact. This should not be applied immediately behind the junction between the head and the pole. At this point will be impossible to introduce the caliper 1.25 mm.

The javelin should have no moving parts or other devices that during the action of the launch could change its center of gravity or launch characteristics.

Decrease the thickness of the javelin until the tip of the metal head will be so that the angle of the tip will not be greater than fortieth. The diameter at one point to 150 mm the tip should not exceed 80% of the maximum diameter of the mast.

At the midpoint between the center of gravity and the tip of the head metal, the diameter should not exceed 90% of the maximum diameter of the mast.

Decrease the thickness of the javelin until the queue, will be so that the diameter at the midpoint between the center of gravity and tail, should not be less than 90% of the maximum diameter of the mast. At one point to 150 mm in the queue, the diameter should not be less than 40% of the maximum diameter of the mast. The diameter of the mast at the end of the queue shall not be less than 3.5 mm.
